INDIVIDUAL therapy
IN SAN DIEGO & ACROSS CALIFORNIA

Find your footing & reconnect with who you really are.

You’re doing your best to hold it all together, but beneath the surface, you feel exhausted.

On the outside, things might look fine. You show up for work, you take care of your responsibilities, and you try to be there for the people in your life. But internally, there’s a quiet hum of anxiety, a lingering sense of self-doubt, or a feeling that you’re just going through the motions.

You might find yourself repeating the same patterns—in your career, in your relationships, or in how you treat youtAnd when relationships end—whether in silence or with hurtful words—it can often feel like an open wound, especially when you don’t get the closure you’d hoped.

Maybe you’ve been…

  • Feeling overwhelmed by a constant inner critic that tells you you’re not doing enough

  • Struggling to set boundaries, often putting others’ needs before your own

  • Carrying the weight of past experiences that still cast a shadow over your present

  • Feeling disconnected from your own desires, unsure of what you actually want out of life

  • Experiencing a lingering sense of emptiness or loneliness, even when you’re around others

  • Trying to manage anxiety or sadness by staying busy, only to catch up with you when you finally slow down

Therapy is a space to pause. It’s an opportunity to look beneath the symptoms and understand the deeper roots of what’s keeping you stuck, so you can move forward with more clarity and self-compassion.

OUR APPROACH

When you work with us, we don’t just look for quick fixes. We get curious about the deeper story of your life.

We know that the struggles you're facing didn’t develop overnight. They are often deeply connected to your history, your early relationships, and the ways you learned to survive and adapt in the world.

In Individual therapy, we create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore the parts of yourself that are difficult to face. We gently bring hidden emotions and unconscious patterns to light. Instead of just treating the symptoms, we work together to understand why you feel the way you do.

As we explore your inner world, the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a powerful tool for healing. It becomes a secure place to practice new ways of relating, to process old wounds, and to discover more a authentic, grounded version of yourself.

FAQs

Common questions about individual therapy

  • Individual therapy focuses entirely on your personal inner world—your history, your patterns, and your relationship with yourself. While we often discuss your relationships with others in individual therapy, the primary focus is on your own growth and healing. If you’re looking to work on the dynamic between you and your partner directly, you can visit our couples therapy page here.

  • You don’t need to be in a state of crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy when they. feel a vague sense of dissatisfaction, when they notice they are repeating unhelpful patterns, or when they simply want to understand themselves on a deeper level. If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, therapy can be a valuable place for exploration.

  • Because we practice depth therapy, our focus is on long-term, meaningful change rather than quick, temporary fixes. The length of therapy varies for each person depending on their unique history and goals. Some clients find what they need in a few months, while others choose to engage in the process for a year or more to continue their deep personal work.

  • While we do explore your past to understand how it shapes your present, we always connect those insights back to what you are experiencing right now. Understanding your history helps us make sense of your current patterns, allowing you to make more conscious choices in your life today.

  • That is completely normal. You don’t need to have a prepared agenda for your sessions. Your therapist is trained to help guide the conversation, ask curious questions, and help you uncover what needs to be explored. Sometimes, the most profound insights come from the moments when we simply allow ourselves to see where our thoughts take us.
